To infinity & beyond: foodora plans to create gourmet inflight space foodMarch 30, 2017
foodora is preparing to take food delivery where no courier service has ever gone before: into space! We all know from watching much films such as 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Martian (how did he grow those potatoes- SRLY?) and Alien (before the whole stomach bursting scene) that the food in Space is rarely appetising. Unless you know, freeze dried vegetables and vacuum packed treats are your thing.
foodora is currently looking for a space mission partner, so it can showcase what it’s hailing as a first of its kind in-flight galactic menu.
The forward-thinking company has been working on initial prototype food samples with some of its popular restaurant partners, including: Luke Mangan’s Chicken Confidential and Mad Mex, to construct a delectable menu.
foodora is in the painstaking process of carefully developing how this food will be perfectly adapted to suit the conditions aboard a spacecraft. To do this, it’s enlisted the help of top chefs at the aforementioned restaurants, along with a dedicated team of scientists, to create food that will not only survive the extreme conditions of outer space, but also taste truly delicious.
It’s one small step for man, one giant leap for food delivery. Who says you can’t reach for the moon – to infinity and beyond we go!
